Tim McCoy, the hero of numerous Western screen adventures, was no less accomplished in real life. Not only was McCoy an expert on the Old West, but an authority on Indian folklore and languages as well and was one of the few Hollywood stars who could actually converse with Red Indians in sign Language. A sharpshooter famed for his lightening fast draw, he was once timed by a movie editor at an amazing 24 frames per second! Interestingly, McCoy, the hero of this thrilling Western rides without a holster.

Running Time: 61 Minutes
MPAA Ratings: NR

The Rancho Hernandez holds promise of great wealth, which attracts the attention of gambler Ace Morgan (Wheeler Oakman) and his partner Amos Harden (J. Frank Glendon) . Together they plot to grab the ranch from Don Hernandez (Joseph W. Girard) by forging papers. They also trap his son Jose (Rex Lease) by crediting him large amounts of money, which they promptly win back through crooked gambling deals. Don and his charming daughter Juanita (Luana Walters) have just about resigned themselves to fate when a tall, lean and soft-spoken stranger who calls himself Tim Harrington (Tim McCoy) rides into their lives. Little did the father and daughter realize that their guest was none other than the famous gambler Gentleman Tim Madigan, nor did they know that he had already devised an ingenious plan to save the ranch!

I remember reading that McCoy was the fastest man on the draw in Hollywood and was amazed to see him toss away the gun in this episode, which is just as thrilling as it would have been if he did carry a six shooter. Tim’s rare magnetism carries the plot so well that you don’t seem to remember any other name except his when the lights are turned on again. I am a diehard fan Of McCoy’s and will not miss a single movie of his – regardless of whether he carries a gun or not!
Robbie Miller (Annapolis, Maryland)

Hey come on everybody who says he is a Tim McCoy fan, here is a rare treat for you – Tim showing off his skills with a deck of cards! Its amazing what this hawk-eyed man could do – ride horses splendidly, shoot better than almost everybody and now shuffle a deck of cards as if his hands were greased lightening! There are many reasons for my adoring McCoy and he’s given me a few more with his unforgettable performance in this western.
Jason Taylor (Little Rock, Arkansas)
