The Great Barrier Reef is the world's most valuable reef and an irreplaceable asset for our planet. It is the world’s biggest tourism draw card creating a massive economy for the state of Queensland. Lin is addicted to this environment and has done thousands of dives beneath the sea;you could definitely say she can talk to the fish. But along with the joy and amazement comes knowledge of a changing environment.
On this program Travel Wild explores the importance of reefs around the world for tourism and what it would mean to lose them. Lin travels to three of Australia's top Great Barrier Reef Islands to meet the amazing marine life including cod, turtles and manta rays but we also take a look at how tourism and science are working to educate people.
But the multibillion dollar question is can we truly protect this eco-system? Well the only way to even begin to try is to understand its value and how it is changing and talk with the world experts on how to manage this change.
