Not only are there a lot of fun things to do in Sydney and Melbourne, but there's also a great place to visit a little further north on Australia's "Gold Coast." If you like sun, surf, sand, clean air and a laid-back lifestyle, then come with Laura to the Gold Coast!
As we venture with Laura to Surfer's Paradise, we're greeted with sand that stretches as far as the eye can see. Aside from the magnificent surfing here, there are plenty of other water activities: you can make waves on a speed boat, captain a jet-ski, catch a lift while parasailing or drive an Adventure Duck bus right into the ocean. Once you've had your fill of the beach, travel with Laura into the thick of the Queensland Rainforest, home to wallabies, wombats, kangaroos and koalas, as well as an incredible variety of birds. Take a "canopy walk," a popular rainforest attraction on rope bridges and walkways that hang high in the branches so you can get a close-up look at the wildlife here. Finally, Laura visits the home of the world's largest collection of Australian native animals, the Carrumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. It's an oasis for over 1400 mammals, birds and reptiles. It's also one of the only places where you can actually hold a Koala and feed a kangaroo! So…if you're headed to Australia and want to take in something new, then consider the Gold Coast for a great family vacation!
