Rattlesnakes do not deserve the evil reputation they've been given over the years. Because of this a general lack of understanding, the rattlesnake remains branded as a public enemy. We've come to the Southwest United States to study some of the nine different species of rattlesnakes that live here and their place in nature. These fascinating reptiles play an important role in the ecosystem as predators and sometimes as prey. The snake and the mongoose are 2 of India’s most often seen wild animals. Rudyard Kipling wrote one of his most famous works about a cobra and a mongoose. It’s easy to see why he found these 2 animals so fascinating. Both have evolved to be highly effective predators. And each species has it’s own distinct behaviors and methods of hunting. The mongoose is always on the move constantly seeking out and catching any prey it can find and consuming an enormous amount every day. But both animals are known for the lightning speed they rely on when the situation demands. And we’ll find out what happens when they to cross paths and quickness becomes the determining factor for survival. We’ll find ourselves in Thailand creeping along the forest floor with the Asian purple centipede, and all 19 pairs of his synchronized legs.
