Learning To Deal With Disasters!
In the late 18th century, Indian raids became common until their defeat in the Battle of Fallen Timbers. The Treaty of Greenville that followed opened the floodgates for thousands of settlers who came to the region and soon Cincinnati, Cleveland, Dayton, and Youngstown were established. Ohio thus became the 17th state on March 1, 1803 and by the middle of the 19th century it was well on it’s way to becoming a major industrial state. Canals and railroads, which had created a much faster trade route, played a major role in Ohio’s progress.
After the civil war, industry expanded rapidly with Benjamin Goodrich opening a rubber plant in Akron and John Rockefeller founding the Standard Oil Company in Cleveland. Ohio became a top manufacturing state of machinery and furniture.
During the great Depression, the Works Progress Administration (WPA), a federal agency, was formed. It provided hundreds of jobs and also came to the rescue of the thousands who were marooned when the Ohio River overflowed its banks. The WPA helped in creating many flood-control dams and reservoirs throughout the state. This DVD provides a fascinating peek at the northeastern corner of the prosperous state of Ohio and explains why it clamis to be the "best location in the nation".

The gruesome images of road accidents in the clip "Signal 30" should melt the hearts of even the staunchest detractors of safety regulations. While the scenes themselves may be disturbing, the message they convey is a significant and strangely comforting one - observe traffic regulations and your safety is guaranteed.
Yes, Ohio, has always been one of the most ‘happening places’ in the country and this DVD provides a fabulous insight into the lives of people who have made it their home. CUSTOMER'S REVIEWS:"While all the three films on this fascinating DVD are outstanding in their own right, the one entitled "Signal 30" especially touched me. I am sure it wasn’t an easy decision to include those ghastly scenes of fatal accidents in the film, but as they say, the ends justify the means. I now keep a careful eye on my speedometer these days and I am quite certain that many like me, have started taking traffic regulations more seriously after seeing this wonderful and thought provoking documentary. Thanks everybody at a2zcds for this wonderful reminder of how important it is for all of us to follow traffic regulations while driving."
