Dave travels to the hills above Stanford University in California to talk with author Betsy Clebsch. Betsy has written two books on Salvias, the latest is The New Book of Salvias available from Timber Press and has grown hundreds of Salvias in her own gardens. Many types of Salvia thrive in heat, sun and dry conditions, making them invaluable in pots and gardens to bust up the "August blahs." Many are hardy and all attract butterflies and hummingbirds. Explore along with Dave as he discovers the Insect Zoo, which is part of the Children's Zoo at the San Francisco Zoo. Watch as he gets up close with giant grasshoppers, huge spiders, cockroaches, and many other very scary bugs! Dave's favorites in this episode include;Lily, Erythrina and Butterflies.
