Dave travels to Philadelphia where Chanticleer Garden is a pleasure garden designed to take full advantage of aesthetic qualities of flowers, foliage, and texture in plants. The exciting plant combinations melded with the unique structures and garden rooms of Chanticleer change with each year as do the imagination of the skilled horticulturists who create them. Next journey along as Dave goes inside San Quentin Prison, where a garden grows hearts and minds. The Insight Garden Program (IGP) rehabilitates prisoners at San Quentin State Prison through the process of organic gardening. By working in nature, participants learn vocational and life skills so they can practice constructive relationships between themselves, their communities and the natural environment and become productive members of society. In this episode of Garden Travels, Dave's favorites include: Rose 'Veilchenblau', Parahebe, Lily and Dragonflies.
