Welcome to Ireland! There is a surprise around every corner here;you see quaint little villages and beautiful castles. There’s plenty to see on the Emerald Isle!
One of the most defining characteristics of Irish society is their belief in superstitions. For that, Laura heads to Blarney Castle, a 10th century fortress just outside of the seaside city of Cork. She makes the arduous trek up to the castle grounds and kisses the Blarney Stone for the gift of gab. Next we’ll head over to the city of Cork to play the famous Bells of Shandon. Just select your favorite tune from the bench and give it a good old ring! There are many traditions in Ireland, but the tastiest of them all is in the seaside village of Kinsale, often called the gourmet capital of Ireland. The village is very famous for its seafood, including shellfish, john dory, mackerel, pollock, and sea bass. For another one of Ireland’s famous experiences, we’ll head to Ashford Castle in Lough Corrib. Imagine a real 13th century castle, between a lake and a river, surrounded by hundreds of acres of private woodland…and it’s also a five star hotel! Ah, Ireland is a country filled with traditions, culture and history. And whether you’re Irish or not you’ll feel your Celtic blood rising with pride as you experience everything this incredible country has to offer.
