Budapest, Hungary, is one of the most fascinating cities in Eastern Europe. The city itself is comprised of two sections: the old medieval historical Buda section, and the hotel-lined, shopping-infused Pest section. Budapest proves to be a whole lot of fun!
Experience some Budapest culture with Laura. Artistic and political events are celebrated on nearly every street corner and in every square, including folk dancing, a great way for young Hungarians connect to their nomadic roots. After the revelry, Laura will take you to the oldest part of the city on the Buda side. Here you'll find the old Castle district and a bronze statue of King St. Stephen, one of the most beautiful monuments in Hungary. For a great view of the city and its landmarks, including St. Stephen's Basillica and the Danube River, you'll want to wander over to the Royal Palace terrace. After a long day of walking, enjoy some puppetry and music with Laura at the historic Budapest Puppet Theatre and Budapest Opera House. It’s considered to be one of the finest in Europe, and it attracts thousands of tourists and opera fans. Next Laura will take you over to Vaci Street on the Pest side of the river. This is the main shopping street, where you're going to find more of the upscale international shops, as well as a true flea market where people come to sell their own wears. Budapest is an amazing city with an incredible history. The people are friendly, the food is great, and the historic sites are totally romantic against the beautiful blue Danube.
