Take an extended Alpine holiday to Switzerland where we will visit the towns of Zurich, Bern and Gruyeres. From a bustling cosmopolitan city to the nation’s capital to a medieval village, Ron Stern will share his insights for what makes this country a favorite in any season.

We’ll start the trip in Zurich where old meets new. Here classic cathedrals anchor this city to its religious past and stand as stately landmarks above trendy shops, restaurants and meandering cobblestone walkways. Next we’ll travel by rail to the capital of Bern, a UNESCO World Heritage site and home to the brand new Bern Bear Park. Our last stop is the medieval town of Gruyeres, visiting the famous cheese factory and enjoying some fondue and other delicacies along the way.

Ron will also share one of the hidden secrets of Gruyeres, one that reveals itself as a surprise to tourists who suddenly spot some other worldly creatures on the side of a building. This is home to the innovative creator of the Alien creature, H.R. Giger and the Giger museum. We’ll visit with Giger at his amazing Alien Café and hear how he became fascinated with this Sci-Fi art form.
