Make no bones about it, Switzerland produces from the best, most authentic, and flavorful cheese in the world. This show is dedicated to three of the most famous cheeses and cheese regions: Appenzeller, Emmental, and Gruyere. We’ll visit a mountain dairy and watch as Gruyere is made over and open fire in a labor of love, strength, and tradition. In Emmental, we’ll ascend into caves holding the precious wheels of the aromatic and flavorful Swiss beauty. And, in the remote area that produces Appenzeller, we’ll head to the dairy and sample the different ages of one of the world’s great cheeses.
