The romantic islands of Rab and Pag in the Adriatic Sea, off the coast of Croatia, offers a surplus of sun and sandy beaches. Rab is very small and can only be reached by ferry. Its southern location offers an almost oriental feel and the island is small enough to cross within two hours. The eastern part of the island is almost desert with little vegetation, while the western part is mainly pine woods. The island is famous for its fine sandy beaches, rare in the Adriatic, and for it small inviting taverns and local food.
Pag is connected to the mainland by a bridge, although a ferry service is also available. Pag has even less vegetation than Rab and is a bit like visiting an alien planet. However, the climate is extremely warm and during the day you can relax undisturbed on one of the numerous remote sandy beaches. As the sun begins to set, a stroll along the warm promenades makes a delightful end to the day.
