RIVER PATROL The Mekong Delta is one of the most intricate and complex waterways in the world, difficult to navigate during peacetime, let alone during the mayhem of war. For many US Marines from the USS Harnett County, patrolling the Delta was a daily duty, running the gauntlet of enemy fire and entering unknown territories.
THE AMERICAN NAVY IN VIETNAM A major fighting force, the 7th Fleet of the US Navy played several vital roles during the Vietnam War both military and civilian. Aircraft carriers, destroyers, helicopter gunships and amphibious landing craft are but a few of the many weapons at their disposal but they also provided medical care, troop support and countless other duties during the conflict.
A DAY IN VIETNAM From an early morning briefing to a search and rescue mission, spend a unique day with the Navy Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. A marine's duties are as varied as the brave men who wear the uniform and this program examines some of those roles including a patrol mission, aiding the local villagers and those of a navy pilot.
