Laura starts her tour of Cambodia in the mystical province of Siem Reap, with adventuresome day trips to see temples and ruins, shop, and check in to the best hotels. Bayon Temple is an adventure… Laura climbs on board the back of an elephant and follows her guide on a short trek through the jungle. She exits the jungle at the gates of Angkor Thom and reviews the carvings which reflect the mixture of both Buddhist and Hindu beliefs in their society. Angkor Thom is the largest temple complex in the world with over 72 major monuments, including the most famous one….Angkor Wat! From the height of the balloon tour, Laura views the enormous moat that surrounds Angkor Wat. This moat is 570 feet wide and about four miles long, and it took over 30 years to construct. The adventure doesn't stop there! Laura visits another temple, "Ta Phrom," now totally overgrown and engulfed by the jungle! The antiquity, the call of the jungle, the perfectly preserved artwork…all of it makes for an experience of a life time!
