Exploring sites of history, culture and natural beauty, the Heritage Hunter is on a quest for treasures. Treasures, which tell the story of the people whose heritage are under threat.
On the borders of China and Myanmar, where the mountains meet the heavens, is where an ancient tribe of people known as the Wa make their home. Known for their savage headhunting traditions in the past, today they are famous for their love of song and dance. The Wa believe that when they learn to talk, they sing. When they learn to walk, they dance. Their ancestors came out of a cave in the mountain. As such, their name means “the people of the caves”.
