Melvyn arrives in Cambodia this week. Melvyn is first invited to dine with a privileged family. In their mansion, Melvyn feasts on one of the most unusual things he’s ever experienced – ant’s eggs! Then, by the famous Mekong River, Melvyn shares a simple meal with his hosts. He experiences eating in a house built on stilts. What’s more, Melvyn will eat on the same floor, which the family sleeps! What does he learn from these two very different families? Will the meal he cooks for them suit their tastes?
Hosted by a funky chef, Melvyn Lee, this unusual food and travel show tells us everything we do not know about the cities through the very private kitchens of 2 different families. Each week, Melvyn travels and arrives at a different city. Within the span of 3 days, He befriends 2 vastly distinct local families. Melvyn’s mission is to learn the culture and cuisine of these different social groups. At the end of each program, inspired by what he has learned, Melvyn will prepare a special meal for his newfound friends and culinary masters.
