Maghreb: Across Atlas Mountains
Journey across the Atlas Mountains and visit the city of Sefrou, where there used to be the largest Jewish community in the country. Explore the town of Bhalil whose buildings are caves dug in a hill, Ifrane a ski resort built at the beginning of the 20th century by the French and Azrou, a Berber town with green roofs. Go to Erg Chebi in Sahara, climbing the dunes at sunrise and visit Rissani, a crossroad town for the caravans of forgotten times. Travel further to Todra and Dades Gorge, to Tinerhir, Ouarzazate and Agdz, and continue on the uniquely picturesque Vale de Draa, flanked by palm tree groves. Drive through Kasbah and Ksours all the way to the garrison town of Zagora, where a famous sign shows only 52 days by camel to Timbouctou. Return on the same road and stop at two famous Kasbahs on the way, presently used as stages for lots of film productions.
